The game 'Jet Force Gemini' has been one of my favorite games on the N64 since its original release date. The graphics are very good for the N64. The game is filled was numerous vibrant colored & detailed worlds to explore. You also have a wide varity of items that you can aquire in the game, as well as many interesting characters to meet. The games sound effects & music is pretty nice too! As, the game progress you get more powerfull items, not to mention more playable characters! Theres alot of reasons why one should get this game. Graphics, sound, vibrant color, are just a few to mention. The camera angle is decent too in this game. This game is easy for the younger crowd yet, the older crowd will love it as well, being there is so much to cover in the game it makes every new world just as exciting as the next. This game is a little on the different side but, in an excellent way! As, it caputures your attention from one minute to the next! The replay value of this game I belive is high, simply because this game is very lengthy and creates a challenge for any gamer who loves to take time maxing out the game. This game is great for gamers of all ages who like to take a detour on everyday and sit back and enjoy a game or two, or three, or four!Read full review
Jet Force Gemini, what a classic. Not many games give you bonuses for collecting friendly AI and enemies heads. The game is a classic run and gun game, with great amounts of exploration. Like Body Harvest meets Donkey Kong 64. The characters are well rendered for it's time, easy to control (minus backing up), and fun to play as. I can't go into depth on the story for you, but it's in outer space. There's a bad guy, ewok looking fellas who need rescuing, and tons of enemies. The weapons are awesome as well. Grenades, rocket launcher, machine gun, shotgun, etc. This game has it all. One of the few games that has a large, drawn out story, with a good multiplayer as well. It's almost two games in one. The soundtrack is epic. I don't know who did it, but it's very well orchestrated. The controls are tight, with exception for the whole backing up thing. Each character has a certain attribute that is not found in the other characters, which gives this game much replay value. You can later go back to past levels and reach new areas and items with a different character. The fun factor is high. Only real complaints I have is that it's easy to get lost sometimes (not too bad though), and it can be a little challenging at times. Rare was an awesome company for the N64, and I don't think they made one bad game on the console. This is no exception. Even with a few mini games with references to Diddy Kong racing, this game does not disappoint. If you like run and gun games, buy this. The only reason I didn't give it an excellent rating, is because of the few flaws I mentioned. You seriously need to pick this one up. It's a classic.Read full review
Jet Force Gemini is a wonderful game by Rare, the same company that brought to life such classics as Donkey Kong, Banjo-Kazooie, and Goldeneye. Players take control of one of three playable characters, Juno, Vela, or Lupus. Each character has a unique ability to help confront the hordes of insects in each level. Run through multiple stages on their quest to confront the evil Mizar, a giant insect who has directed a large asteroid at the planet Earth! Collect weapons ranging from a plasma shotgun to an electric taser to save the teddy bear tribals in each level in order to acquire parts for a FTL spaceship. Perfectionists will love replaying the many stages with every character in order to discover every secret. On the other hand, if you're looking for a quick run-and-gun game, this may not be for you, as the game can last for weeks. The controls can also be slightly difficult to adjust to, but customization options do exist. Overall, a great addition to your N64 library!Read full review
This is one of the hardest games ever made for the Nintendo 64, and since much of the N64 fare tended to be for the kiddies, this game didn't seem to make many waves. BUT, if you ever found yourself playing it, you would find that it became quite addictive, as good as any First Person Shooter for any other platform. My young son and I have enjoyed this game thoroughly. I really like the way you can get "1.5 Player" mode unlocked, once you assmeble your little robot ally, half way through the game. Why only the Good rating and not the Excellent? Two reasons, first, the controls are a bit touchy and sensitive, and sometimes difficult to aim well. You'll get used to this however. Second, the game is so friggin HARD. I suggest downloading a game "walk through" after your 3rd or 4th week of frustration. To finish the game, you need to find just about EVERYTHING there is in that game. Still, the game is just flat out fun, and besides, is it just me, or is Vela kinda hot?Read full review
I bought this game on eBay because I could not find it anywhere else and had a Nintendo 64 which I have at my grandparents house. I remember as a young child playing this game and thinking that it was the best ever, after beating the game long ago I gave it away and recently I wanted to replay that game recalling the awesome experiences I had with it. Unfortunately times change and was used to be good to me is not so good any more. It is still a fun game but having played so many newer games such as Halo or Call of Duty the graphics, sound quality and overall atmosphere of the game is not the same. This game is a second person shooter which in my opinion is better than a first person. I am glad that I got it at a good price because looking back on the purchase I probably wouldn't have paid anymore. If you have played this game before and want to replay it or are looking for something to collect from this Rare-ware series then go ahead and buy it. It really isn't bad but it does not compare to todays standards of video games, remember that this game is probably a good seven years old.Read full review
